Fort Worth, Texas – Monday, January 13, 2025 – James Agustus Adlam Jr., a dynamic entrepreneur, philanthropist and distinguished business and staff development consultant, and a recognized authority on the power of unlocking human potential, will be conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters from West Coast Bible College & Seminary (WCBCS). This distinguished accolade will be formally bestowed upon her at a ceremonial event scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025, accommodating both in-person and online attendees.

Dr. James Adlam, with a rich background spanning over two decades, has carved a niche in transforming organizations by fostering growth, innovation, and excellence in workforce capabilities. He has had the privilege of helping to motivate and inspire thousands of individuals at live events on four continents. His social media content has been viewed by hundreds of thousands of people globally. His unique approach, blending astute business acumen with a deep understanding of personal growth, has positioned him as a sought-after strategist and thought leader in the corporate world. As an entrepreneur himself, James’s insights are grounded in real-world experience, driving both individual and organizational success.
James was born in Chicago and was raised in Jamaica until moving back to the United States at age 9. His father was Jamaican, and his mother was born in Chicago. He lost both parents by the age of 18, but he made a promise to his mother that he was going to do something great with his life. He received his primary education in the Newark, New Jersey public school system when a teacher recognized his scholastic gifts and urged his mother to apply to a scholarship program by the Wight Foundation, an organization that provides scholarships to children from the inner city to attend private schools. Shortly thereafter, James was awarded an academic scholarship to attend the prestigious Lawrenceville School in Lawrence Township, New Jersey, where he thrived and eventually was elected Class President, only the 2nd African American student elected in the school’s 180-year history.
After graduation, James attended Bucknell University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. At age 22 James met his mentor, who taught him key principles on how to become a successful entrepreneur. James has dedicated the last 26 years to building and developing high performance teams on three continents around the globe, with 25 of those years focused on leadership development training. To date, James’s messages have been shared live in front of audiences of over 650,000 and rebroadcast to millions.
He has been featured on Entrepreneur.com, in Success from Home magazine for 7 years in a row; and, in 2019, was featured on the cover of Success from Home magazine. Each year he awards scholarships to kids in Newark, New Jersey and helps provide meals to children throughout North America to help end childhood hunger.

Today, James is on the Board of Directors for the Wight Foundation, and Founder of the James and Yvonne Adlam Scholarship Fund, while continuing his entrepreneurial endeavors. He is dedicated and impassioned to help others actualize their full potential.
